Setting Pocket Watch Hands
Key Wind, Key Set
After opening the glass / bezel you will see that the center of the hands / arbour has a square end, insert your winding key here and turn the hands clockwise.

Top Wind, Pin Set
With top wind pin set watches there is no need to open the bezel. Just press the pin situated to the side of the winding crown with your finger nail and at the same time turn the crown clockwise to set the hands.
Top Wind, Top Set
As with top wind pin set watches there is no need to open the bezel. Pull the crown upwards and you will feel a click. Now turn the crown clockwise to set the hands. Once set, push back to winding position.
Key Wind, Key Set Chronograph
Key wind key set chronograph style pocket watches and later 3/4 plate movements were most commonly set from the rear, so there is no need to open the bezel.
